A little while ago, Italeri announced the release of a OH-58D Kiowa in 1/48th. The company recently posted information about this new kit on its web site, including pictures of the spruces and decals.
The kit is now available with a small number of resellers, including Plastic-models.com. I find the street price for this kit to be a bit steep though: at $35 or so, this is much more money than a larger kit such as Italeri’s Blackhawk or UH-1N (in the $27 range). However, this kit is the only game in town for a OH-58D, as all other 1/48th Kiowas are earlier series such as Italeri’s OH-58A (Italeri 2624).
I will provide more information about this kit when I come around buying one and taking pictures of it for all to see. Of course, the kindest readers of this post can help me get there by making a small contribution through Paypal!
